AirTel unveils new tariff for post-paid

New Delhi , Aug. 1

AIRTEL, the cellular brand of the Bharti group, has crossed the four-million subscriber mark, even as it retains the number one position in the sector.

Disclosing this Mr Manoj Kohli, President - Mobility, Bharti Tele-Ventures Ltd, said that to mark this milestone, the company had introduced a new tariff plan for its post-paid subscriber, which would incorporate the advantages of a pre-paid service.

Christened the AirTel Happy Plan, it has done away with the monthly rentals and processing fees, even as the customer has free incoming calls, with outgoing calls to any phone costing Rs 2.40 per minute.

While the security deposits would continue to be collected for STD/ISD facility, the caller line identification (CLI) charges have been waived off for one month after which a charge of Rs 49 will be collected.

When a subscriber uses Rs 500 of talk time, which is the minimum usage commitment, he would get 100 per cent talk time. SMS charges would, however, be collected separately, Mr Kohli said.
