`Colour Hungama' from Reliance Info

Our Bureau

Mumbai , Aug. 14

FOLLOWING up on its `Monsoon Hungama' scheme which allowed a customer to go mobile for an initial payment of as little as Rs 501, Reliance Infocomm has launched `Colour Hungama,' another Reliance IndiaMobile scheme aimed at marketing high-end colour-display handsets from LG and Samsung for a small upfront payment.

According to an official statement, the Java-enabled handsets _ LG RD 7130 and Samsung SCH-A563 _ costing upwards of Rs 25,000, could be acquired for an initial payment of just Rs 5,001 followed by monthly payments of Rs 300 to Rs 400 for 36 months, which would go towards membership to the Dhirubhai Ambani Pioneer Club.

Membership to the Pioneer Club will entitle the customer to a 25 per cent discount on a Reliance Webworld membership and free subscription to R-world with most content free or with high discounts until September 30, 2003.

According to the statement, the flip-up handsets, which have been positioned as a "must-have for the discerning customer," are compact and have a clamshell design. They support the suite of Reliance IndiaMobile applications, including streaming videos. For e.g., customers will be able to receive video clips from the latest movies on these handsets.
