ICICI Infotech Orion modified for SMEs

Our Bureau

Chennai , Aug. 28

ICICI Infotech will shortly launch an ERP solution specially meant for small-scale units, which will be made available to the customers on a "hosted model".

The company proposes to build data centres to house the servers at various places. The servers would belong to SMEs, either as owned hardware or rented. The SMEs would have to pay a monthly rental, comprising licence fee for the software and a charge for using the data centre.

Mr Hari Padmanabhan, President and Head, Enterprise Solutions group, ICICI Infotech, said that for a 20-user SME, the cost could work out to less than Rs 1 lakh per month. "For that sum, you are renting a complete IT infrastructure," he said.

ICICI Infotech'snew solution is derived from the Orion-II family of ERP solutions.
