The Hindu Business Line : TRAI asks BSOS to be non-discrimnatory

THE Telecom Regulatory Authority of India has asked all the basic service operators to be non-discriminatory in provision of infrastructure facilities to Internet service providers.

According to an official statement, this is being done to protect the sustainability of standalone ISPs and to maintain a level playing field among ISPs.

The order implies that there can be no discrimination by BSOs in the commercial arrangements offered to other ISPs vis-à-vis their own ISP operations.
