`Domestic market vital for Wipro Infotech'

Our Bureau

Coimbatore , Aug. 29

THOUGH Wipro Infotech has emerged a truly global corporation, the domestic market will continue to be a very critical component of its growth strategy, its President, Mr Suresh Vaswani, said.

He said the company's focus had, in the last two decades, shifted from product development and product-related services to software services and e-procurement.

`The industry has been challenged. Today, the Government is a big investor in software services, educational institutes invest in a big way and so do corporates. All these have fuelled the growth. With customers keen on outsourcing the management of IT infrastructure, the mood is indeed positive,' he added.

Mr Vaswani said the market was beginning to look up on the global front, with international companies looking to India for outsourcing their requirements. Every corporate, he said was keen to automate the processes.
