Coimbatore , Aug. 29

INDIA Post, Tamil Nadu circle, has emerged a trend-setter by entering into a collaborative agreement with Bharti Cellular Ltd, for marketing the Airtel Magic pre-paid SIM cards at select post offices and RMS (Railway Mail Service) offices.

Launching the venture, the Chief Postmaster-General of India Post (Tamil Nadu Circle), Dr U. Srinivasaraghavan, said the Department of Posts had, in keeping pace with the rapid changes in the market place, diversified its areas that had hitherto not been ventured into by the department per se.

"It is not just delivery of messages and parcel or retailing any more. The postal employees are capable of taking the challenges headlong. We are now selling postal products, mutual fund, pension and insurance products," he said.
