The Hindu Business Line : WTO meet: Pant cautions against Singapore issues

THE Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission, Mr K.C. Pant, has cautioned that any hasty decision on Singapore issues at the World Trade Organisation (WTO) without fully comprehending the pros and cons on development might not serve the interests of the developing countries.

Speaking on the occasion of the seminar presentation on World Trade and Development report 2003 of the Research and Information System for the Non Aligned and other Developing Countries (RIS), Mr Pant pointed out that developing from different parts of the World have already expressed their reservations on the negotiating mandate in the WTO.
