Hyderabad , Sept. 5

SATYAM Computer Services Ltd, a global IT solutions provider, has announced the launch of a comprehensive e-logistics solutions for Malaysia's Konsortium Logistik Bhd (Konsortium) that is capable of seamlessly integrating front-end customer interaction to fleet management and back-office functions.

The Satyam Chairman, Mr B. Ramalinga Raju and the Konsortium Executive Chairman, Mr. Encik Mirzan bin Mahathir, officiated a `go live' ceremony at Carcosa Seri Negara Hotel in Kuala Lumpur to jointly launch the $ 850,000 (RM 3.2 million Ringgit) `Project Genero'. Developed under Satyam's Global Logistics Practice, this supply chain management solutions project included three enterprise-wide applications.

This system allows a logistics provider such as Konsortium to view revenue, cost reports in order to instantaneously gauge operating profitability for each customer's order; distribute that order among different logistic service providers; manage its fleet and plan transportation loads; bill and track accounts payable; and maintain contracts and performance rankings of a network of vendors supporting Konsortium under its affiliate management system, according to a Satyam communique.

For Satyam, Mr Raju said that this was a milestone development, not just in terms of the technological competencies achieved by our logistics practice, but also for what it means for our strategy to grow our operations in Malaysia and the region.

He added that Malaysia was an important pillar in the growth and development of Satyam in the Asia-Pacific, which he described as the region that was delivering the fastest growth for the company.
