THE Department of Posts has launched a new scheme, `Postal Finance Mart', aimed at enhancing the patronage for its financial products.

Inaugurated by the Union Minister of State for Communications and Information Technology, Mr S. Thirunavukkarasar, the financial mart, apart from displaying the life insurance schemes, has tied up with some of the leading banks and mutual fund companies to increase the product mix. The companies include ICICI Prudential, IDBI and SBI Mutual Fund.

According to the Post Master General, Mr T.B. Reddy, the finance mart would augment the department's revenue and function as a counselling centre for making prospective investors aware of the various options.
