Brands Siddhartha Apparels to launch own brand Ambar Singh Roy
Kolkata , Sept. 9 MORE than two decades of manufacturing readymade garments, especially shirts, for well-known brands such as Park Avenue, Siddhartha Apparels Pvt Ltd has firmed up plans to launch its own range of ready-to-wear garments for men under the UGO brand. The company, whose manufacturing facility is situated at the Guindy Industrial Estate in Chennai, will formally launch its offerings in the run-up to the ensuing festival season. Stating this during an interface here, Mr Gaurav Goenka, Director of Siddhartha Apparels Pvt Ltd, said a soft launch of UGO products has already been made in several parts of the country and the response has been encouraging. The idea now was to seek a nationwide presence through "at least 260 retail outlets" in the near future. Mr Goenka said the company's plant in Chennai would continue to manufacture about six lakh shirts per annum for well-known brands. UGO shirts would be manufactured at the same plant with the addition of some balancing equipment. A capital investment of Rs 2 crore has been made to facilitate the scalability. The company has targeted monthly sales of 10,000 units of the UGO brand to begin with. About 8-10 per cent of the revenue that would be generated would be spent on building the brand. The brand-building exercise would be confined to hoardings, advertisements, point-of-presence initiatives and dealer incentives. Celebrity endorsements have been ruled out for the moment, according to Mr Goenka.
