The Hindu Business Line : New KCCI President

MANGALORE: Mr R.D.Kini has been elected the new President of the Kanara Chamber Commerce and Industry (KCCI), at its 62nd annual general body meeting held here on Wednesday.

The others in the new board include Vice-President, Mr A. Srinivas Rao, Secretaries, Capt. J.P. Menezes and Mr M. Padmanabha Kamath, and 12 other committee members.

Speaking to Business Line, Mr Kini said he would continue to press for the completion of the Hassan-Mangalore broad gauge conversion before December 2004.

Another pressing matter before the KCCI was attracting new business and investments to Mangalore through outsourcing and ancillaries, as industrial outsourcing has been found to be an effective way of improving investment in Dakshina Kannada.
