CHENNAI , Sept. 18 THEME parties, contests and a series of promos have been lined up by Columbia Tristar Films of India, to create excitement around the release of the Walt Disney film, Pirates of the Caribbean, on Friday. Speaking to Business Line, Mr Gulshan David, Marketing Manager, Columbia Tristar Films of India, said that the company has tied up with energy drink brand Red Bull and TV channel B4U, to run the Quest of the Can Contest between the students of JJ School of Arts, Mumbai, and JD Institute of Fashion Technology, Mumbai. "The students have been asked to create a fashion theme revolving around the Pirates of the Caribbean using Red Bull cans. While the fashion students would be asked to design 18th century pirate clothes and create accessories such as a belt buckle or a gun using Red Bull cans, the art students would be asked to design the exterior of the cans," said Mr David. The B4U channel, said Mr David, would air the entire contest, as well as works of the winner which would be displayed in a `Pirates' theme party at Lush, a retro lounge in Mumbai, in its daily fashion programme, Purple. The company is also going to organise similar promos in the other cities such as Delhi and Chennai. "In Delhi, we have tied up with DT Cinemas to host a Pirates theme party at the Maurya Sheraton. At the same we are also going to have a number of contests at Café Coffee Day outlets, in which the winners would win a film ticket," mentioned Mr David. Similarly, in Chennai, the company is organising The Pirates Taj promotion, which entitles a free preview ticket on a first-come-first-serve basis at the Matchpoint restaurant in Taj Coromandel, on a spend of over Rs 700.
