Siema seeks rollback of captive power tax

Coimbatore , Sept. 18

THE Southern India Engineering Manufacturers' Association (Siema), Coimbatore, has requested the Chief Minister, Ms J. Jayalalithaa, to drop the tax levied on captive power generation.

In a statement, Mr G. Rajendran, President, SIEMA, said the CM's decision to withdraw the 5 per cent electricity tax on domestic power consumption was a positive gesture and he welcomed it.
