Uniworld Consulting to set up operations in India

New Delhi , Sept. 18

THE US-based Uniworld Consulting Inc, which deals in the business of providing best practices such as Six Sigma focused deployment solutions in several countries globally, intends to set up operations formally in the Indian market, Mr Dave Antis, CEO & President, Uniworld Consulting, told Business Line.

"We plan to set up our representative office in the country during the fourth quarter of the year. Since we believe that local representation works better for such practices, our operations in India will involve both local consulting and overseas expertise," Mr Antis said.

According to him, India is set to become among the top three countries for best practices such as Six Sigma, besides China and Korea. "While a country such as China has a well-defined factory work force, and Korea is strong on innovation and technology, India's potential lies in its sheer size and intellectual capability," he said.

Throwing light on the potential of Six Sigma practices in India, Mr Antis said, "Best Practices such as Six Sigma are at the beginning stages among most Indian corporate houses. Besides, the concept by and large is being adopted by multinational companies. However, we plan to create awareness of this concept by setting up operations here," Mr Antis said.

Globally, Uniworld Consulting's clients include Samsung, 3M, NASA and Asia Pulp and Paper.

In addition to Six Sigma, Uniworld Consulting provides support and consulting for best practices such as Lean Sigma/ Lean Design and Business Process Management Systems. The organisation provides services focused on training, project management, deployment and internalising Six Sigma into company processes.

According to Mr Antis, Uniworld Consulting's strength lies in value-based consulting. "Getting the maximum payoff from Six Sigma requires an initial strategic thrust that helps companies pay explicit attention to the voice of the customer. Uniworld Consulting refers to this as `customer focused Six Sigma'."
