Thai Airways to offer regular flights from Chennai

THAI Airways International is to start a four-times-a-week service on the Bangkok-Chennai-Dubai sector from October 26. The airline will operate an Airbus A-330-300 aircraft offering 42 seats in business class and 263 seats in economy class on this route. The airline is also hopeful of launching flights between Bangkok and Bangalore by next year.

The new flight to Chennai and onwards to Dubai is to operate every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. The flight (TG 521) will leave Bangkok at 11.45 a.m. and arrive in Chennai at 1.35 p.m. After a halt of just under an hour, the flight will depart from Chennai at 2.20 p.m. and arrive in Dubai at 5.25 p.m.

In the return direction, the flight (TG 522) will leave Dubai at 6.35 p.m. and arrive in Chennai at 11.50 p.m. After a brief stop, the flight will depart Chennai at 12.55 a.m. and arrive in Bangkok at 5.40 a.m.

The new service is to operate to the current timings between October 26, 2003 and March 29, 2003. Chennai is to be the third city after Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai to which Thai Airways International offers regular services from Bangkok.
