New Delhi , Sept. 21

THE INDIASOFT pavilion at Outsource World New York 2003 held at New York City on September 16-18, 2003 generated an "unprecedented interest" among the business visitors numbering over 17,000.

"Outsource World has given 23 Indian companies, which participated in the event an opportunity to meet with leading outsourcing companies and to display their products and solutions in a congenial business environment," said Mr D.K. Sareen, Executive Director, Electronics and Computer Export Promotion Council (ESC) in a statement.

The Indian pavilion was coordinated by ESC.

The strong response for the Indian pavilion comes at a time when there has been an intense public debate in the US and elsewhere in the world about the desirability of business process outsourcing.

The ESC statement said that about 85 per cent of the corporate attendees had purchasing roles for IT products in their respective organisations.
