Software Infosys' DHL account may touch $54 m Abhrajit Gangopadhyay
Bangalore , Sept. 23 THE DHL account with software exporter Infosys Technologies Ltd is expected to go up significantly to touch revenues close to $54 million by fiscal-end from the current level of $35 million, company sources have said. Infosys shares a long-term relationship with DHL and writes its software codes for the most of Asian operations and even global needs. The ongoing traction with DHL gains momentum following Deutsche Post buying out DHL. The new surge in business was expected to be fuelled by certain needs for the new parent of DHL, sources said. The official spokesperson of the company said, "we cannot comment on individual client contracts". Meanwhile, Infosys is also understood to have won a significant order from Mitsubishi Chemicals recently, though the order size could not be ascertained. According to market estimate, it could be in the range of $15-20 million. The new order is mainly in the maintenance segment, sources added. "We believe that Infosys has added significant number of clients in the current quarter... business flows seem very robust. It is a positive indication for revising the guidance upwards", an analyst with a foreign fund said. According to analysts, the company is likely to beat its flattish sequential guidance and a revised forecast could see its earnings per share swelling by Rs 4 from the current level of Rs 33-34. The revised guidance, which is expected to be significantly hiked for the fiscal even by the conservative Infosys standard, could fuel a fresh optimism to the technology sector, which had stayed volatile tracking weak global technology spending.
