GE Shipping clarifies

With reference to the article "Mercator bags deal for coastal movement of crude for IOC" (Business Line, September 24), we wish to clarify that GE Shipping had offered only one vessel and was declared the L1 (lowest one) in the tender floated by IOC for its lighterage requirement. SCI and Mercator had also offered their vessels for the same. IOC renegotiated the rates with GE Shipping as it was L1, and the other shipping companies Mercator and SCI followed suit.
