Rubber rises

RUBBER rates improved further on Thursday. RSS 4 closed at Rs 49.50 against Rs 49.25 on Wednesday.

Arrivals were meagre as usual but most of the rates quoted were the offer rates of the sellers while only few buyers came forward to purchase rubber.

The futures market continued the upward journey on Thursday quoting the October delivery at Rs 50.50 (Rs 49.74), November delivery at Rs 50.50 (Rs 49.51), December delivery at Rs 50.56 (Rs 49.60) and January delivery at Rs 50.60 (Rs 49.78) per kg for RSS 4.

The market opened better and moved up further towards mid-session. The volumes were better.

The Thursday physical market rates per kg follows: RSS 4 Rs 49.50 (Rs 49.25); RSS 5 Rs 48 (Rs 47.25); ungraded Rs 46.50 (Rs 46.25); ISNR 20 Rs 46.50 (Rs 46) and latex 60 per cent Rs 37.50 (Rs 37.50).
