Glenmark, Canadian co tie-up for cardiac drug supply

GLENMARK Pharmaceuticals has tied up with Canadian-based Apotex for supply of a new generation bulk drug in cardiac segment in the US market.

The pharma firm has already started supplying developmental quantities to Apotex and supply of commercial scale quantities is expected next year, a company release said.

"The tie-up with Apotex is a significant development for the company's API business. Partnering with the largest Canadian generic firm is part of our strategic initiative to augment presence in the developed markets," Mr Glenn Saldanha, Managing Director and CEO, Glenmark Pharmaceuticals said.
