Mecon to prepare feasibility report for DVC project

THE Ranchi-based consultancy major, Mecon, has bagged an assignment from Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) to prepare a feasibility report (FR) followed by detailed project report (DPR) for the latter's 2X500 MW coal-based green field thermal power plant proposed to be set at Panchet in West Bengal.

According to a Mecon source, the consultancy outfit's scope of work includes survey, soil testing and basic infrastructure study. This apart, it will also conduct environmental impact assessment and prepare an environmental management plan report for the proposed project and organise clearances from various statutory authorities. A comprehensive report on reconstruction and rehabilitation of displaced persons of the project is also to be prepared by Mecon.
