Advertising Orchard Advertising to open office in Chennai Our Bureau
Mumbai , Oct. 1 THE Bangalore-based Orchard Advertising is set to go national with the opening of its third office in Chennai, and an office in Delhi slated to open within a year to 18 months, according to a news release. The agency currently has an office in Mumbai, besides Bangalore. The Chennai office, which will be headed by Mr Prakash Dharmarajan, already has CavinKare's Fairever and the TVS Srichakra accounts. Starcom will handle the media planning and buying functions for TVS Srichakra. The Chennai office will have a team of 12-14 to begin with, and will do away with the client servicing function as it has existed traditionally, according to Mr Nitish Mukherjee, Managing Director, Orchard Advertising. "The client servicing function needs to be redefined, so we will have teams that comprise creative and planning, assisted by project executives who will take care of operations," he told Business Line. "At the end of the day, advertising is a part of the services industry, so everyone in the business is also doing some servicing." The emergence of a south-based agency as a national player in just three years is significant, Mr Mukherjee added. He attributed the agency's growth to "a new age structure" that commits almost two-thirds of its payroll to hiring the best talent in creative and planning. Orchard Bangalore handles Coke's regional advertising, TVS Fiero F2, Top Ramen, two SAB Miller brands, as well as work for Himalaya and Wipro. Orchard Mumbai recently added Marico and Skoda.
