AP Maha Bill scheme

Our Bureau

HYDERABAD: The Maha Bill scheme, a three-month campaign launched by the Commercial Taxes Department, has entered its second leg. "We are going to hold a draw on October 20 to select winners for the second month. Consumers who made purchases during September 16 to October 15 are eligible to join the fray," Mr N. Ramesh Kumar, Commissioner for Commercial Taxes, said in a statement.

The Department has introduced the scheme to encourage people to insist on bills while making purchases. "With a view to making the scheme more effective and participatory, we have formed a steering committee roping in members from various traders' associations and field level officers of the department," Mr Ramesh Kumar said.
