Advertising Ambience D'Arcy takes new avtar Our Bureau
Mumbai , Oct. 6 IT'S finally official: Ambience D'Arcy Advertising will now be known as Ambience Publicis Advertising Pvt Ltd, following the decision to dissolve the D'Arcy network globally. Ambience Publicis is now be a part of Publicis Worldwide, the flagship network of the Publicis Groupe S.A. Publicis Worldwide is the fifth largest agency network globally, and has two agencies in India, Ambience Publicis and Publicis India. The two-agency strategy is in line with the potential for growth in the Indian market, according to a release. The two agencies share a common top management, but they will be "separate and distinct agencies that will not hesitate to compete with one another", the release said. They may share backroom resources such as finance and IT, but will have separate front-end resources such as account management, account planning, and creative, so there will be no potential of conflict between the two agencies, it added. The common senior management comprises Mr Ashok Kurien, who will be Chairman of both agencies and Managing Director for Ambience Publicis; Ms Elsie Nanji, who will be Vice-Chair and Chief Creative Officer for both agencies, and Mr Nakul Chopra, Group President for both agencies. Mr Subhash Kamath heads Ambience Publicis as COO, while Mr Param Saikia will head Publicis India as its COO. "In the course of the past nine months, Ambience Publicis has already become a jewel in the crown for Publicis Worldwide; in fact, we have already earmarked India as one of the global centres for excellence," Mr Guillaume Levy-Lambert, Chairman, Asia Pacific Publicis Worldwide, was quoted as saying. "We are of the firm opinion that Asia is going to be the key market for growth in the coming years and within Asia, China and India will be pivotal." The two-agency strategy will help the agency capitalise on the growth opportunity, he added. As evidence of the key role Ambience Publicis is expected to play, Ms Nanji is the only representative from Asia on David Droga's Global Creative Council for Publicis Worldwide, he said. ."
