Co-operatives 9 companies bid for AP sugar units Our Bureau
Hyderabad , Oct. 7 ANDHRA Sugars Ltd, NCS Sugars Ltd, Krebs Biochemicals Ltd and the GMR Group are among nine companies that have evinced interest in the purchase of three co-operative sugar units put up for sale by the State Government. Based on the invitation, the bids were submitted on Tuesday. The Implementation Secretariat is assisting and advising the Registrar of Co-operative Societies to transfer the co-operative sugar mills to the private sector. Nizamabad Co-operative Sugar Factory Ltd, Amadalavalasa Co-operative Sugar Factory Ltd and West Godavari Co-operative Sugars Ltd have been put on the selling block. Bidders from all over the State expressed interest in the sale, wherein nine bids were received for these three units. The Tanuku-based Andhra Sugars is one of five in the race for West Godavari Co-operative Sugars. The bids of Andhra Sugars, Ayyappa Sugar, Gowthami Solvent Oils, Krebs Biochemicals and Shree Vaani Sugars and Industries for purchase of West Godavari were found eligible to participate in the price bids. Two bids each were received for the other two co-operative sugar units. While Turbomachinery Engineering and Delta Sugars Ltd are vying to purchase Nizamabad Co-operative Sugar Factory Ltd, GMR Technologies and Industries Ltd and NCS Sugars Ltd are in the race for the third Amadalavalasa Co-operative sugar unit. The price bids for the three sugar units would be opened on October 10, according to a statement from the IS.
