Telecommunications Indiacom bags contract for phone directory Our Bureau
Hyderabad , Oct. 8. INDIACOM Ltd, formerly Sea Seat Information systems Ltd, has been awarded the contract for publishing Hyderabad Telephone Directory with Yellow Pages by Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL). The contract is for a five-year period. The new feature to be added as per the contract provisions is to include the numbers of subscribers of private basic telephone service operators in Hyderabad, according to Mr Ashok Mandore, Managing Director, Indiacom. The new directory will be in two volumes - residential entries volume and business entries volume. The new approach is based on subscriber feedback. Such bifurcated volumes have been launched in cities such as Pune, he said in a press release. While the business volume would consist of telephone numbers of organisations, businesses and Government departments in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad, the residential volume will carry alphabetical entries of residential and rural connection of Hyderabad Telecom District. To cater to the needs of the tech-savvy Cyberabadis, the directory with Yellow pages will also be available on CD with a provision to continuously update.
