Survey on road traffic

Shaju John

Representatives of a private consulting firm conducting a traffic survey on the Old Mahabalipuram Road, near the Taramani-Sardar Patel Road junction. The survey includes questions on the number of trips a motorist makes and the origin of his journey and destination. The Tamil Nadu Government has announced its intention to upgrade the Old Mahabalipuram Road, also known as the IT Corridor, to world-class standards and levy toll on motorists. The busy Taramani-Sardar Patel Road would come under further strain with the Government planning to build a new Secretariat in Kotturpuram.
