Software Bentley may shift Mumbai centre to Hyderabad Our Bureau
Hyderabad , Oct. 20 BENTLEY Systems India Pvt Ltd, the Indian subsidiary of the $230-million infrastructure software developer - Bentley Systems Inc - is contemplating to shift its Mumbai development centre to Hyderabad, buoyed by the multi-crore mapping and geographical services opportunities in the Andhra Pradesh capital. Disclosing this at a media conference here on Monday, the Bentley Systems Regional Director, South Asia, and Managing Director, India, Mr Sandeep Srivastava, said Andhra Pradesh accounted for nearly 60 per cent of the mapping conversion market in the country. "Apart from the attractive market opportunities, the fact that half of the Mumbai development personnel belonged to AndhraPradesh also makes the company seriously think about relocating the centre at Hyderabad," Mr Srivastava said. However, he said a decision on the matter would be taken shortly. Meanwhile, the company plans to open an office at Hyderabad early next year. Bentley Systems was pinning its growth hopes in the country on the major road projects worth over Rs 80,000 crore announced by the Government, new airport projects, the map updating projects of Survey of India, military plans to become a digital enabled army, rail quadrilateral projects, metro rail projects, flyovers and bridges, Mr Srivastava said. Having invested around $5-million in Indian operations since 1996, the company expects to emerge as a $4-million revenue company by the end of next year from the current level of $ 2-million.
