HYDERABAD: The Transmission Corporation of Andhra Pradesh (APTransco) is contemplating to constitute special committees at field level to propagate and publicise the major milestones achieved by the power utilities as a part of its effort to secure the support of the 1.5-crore electricity consumers in the State.

In an open letter to the employees of the power utilities, APTransco Chairperson and Managing Director, Ms Rachel Chatterjee, pointed out that it was not only the duty of the electricity engineers and employees to provide satisfactory service but also their responsibility to inform the consumers about the day-to-day developments in the power sector so as to involve them in achieving the targets set.

Ms Chatterjee specifically suggested that the employees should inform the consumers at all levels about the initiatives taken by the power distribution companies to improve customer service. She wanted them to conduct customer awareness camps in this regard.
