Twenty overseas technical tie-ups cleared

THE Commerce and Industry Minister, Mr Arun Jaitley, has approved 20 cases of foreign technology collaboration/franchise agreements.

The approvals were based on the recommendations of the Project Approval Board. The Board had at its meeting on October 20, 2003, under the Chairmanship of Mr Rajeeva Ratna Shah, Secretary, Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion, recommended these cases for approval.

An official release said that the approved proposals include technical collaboration agreement between EMA India Ltd and Germany-based Eldec Schwenk Induction GmbH for manufacturing high frequency convertors and technical tie-up between Cummins India Ltd and Cummins Inc, USA, for manufacture of internal combustion piston engine.
