Thiruvananthapuram , Nov. 4

INDIAN Institute of Management-Kozhikode (IIM-K) will organise its fourth Annual Management Seminar on November 15 and 16.

Titled `Horizons: Exploring the Frontiers of Management', the two-day programme would seek to reflect upon and understand some of the changes taking place on various fronts in the Indian business firmament, according to Mr Priyesh Pandey, event coordinator.

Fresh challenges in the form of new technology and hyper competition are making for a very dynamic and complex environment in which the test of fitness is not only surviving, but also thriving. "Horizons" would be an expedition to conquer greater heights, cross boundaries and explore new frontiers of unknown opportunities.

In the past, the "Horizons" series has seen a series of presentations by eminent speakers leading to stimulating debates and meaningful discussions. The speakers, drawn from leading corporates, academia and media, have included Mr Rajat Jain (Executive VP & Business Head, SET-MAX), Dr Haseeb Drabu (National Editor, Business Standard), Mr Simon Long (South East Asia Bureau Chief, The Economist), Mr Arvind Singhal (Chairman, KSA Technopak), Mr Suhel Seth (CEO, Equus Redcell), Mr Ram S. Ramasundar (Country Head & CEO, Electrolux South Asia), Mr N. Kumar (Vice-Chairman, Sanmar Group), Mr Prateek Srivastava (Vice-President, O&M) and Mr Sameer Kaul (Country Insurance Manager, Citibank). Delegates from industry and academic institutions actively have also participated in past seminars.

"Horizons- 2003" will cover various themes, which have been chosen keeping in mind contemporary issues and emerging trends.

The themes are - Indian manufacturing - Coming of Age, Knowledge workers: International pulls and national pressures, Build-to-order banking, Brand wars - Phantom menace or attack of the clones, Integrating operational risk into risk management systems, The Lame Blame Game: Board Vs management Vs society (panel discussion).

Judging by the overwhelming response from the industry and academia for the past events, Horizons-2003 will scale new heights and emerge as one of the talking points of the Indian management seminar calendar, Mr Pandey said.
