Purvita Chatterjee

Mumbai , Nov. 10

MARICO Industries is expected to have a new marketing head.

Mr Saugata Gupta, Head of Marketing at ICICI Prudential Life Insurance is poised to takeover as Marico's Chief of Marketing.

Speaking to Business Line, Mr Saugata Gupta, said, "I am expected to join Marico Industries in the near future and will be the universal marketing head for all its brands." An alumni of IIM Bangalore, Mr Gupta, started his career in the FMCG industry and had his first stint with Cadbury in the sales and marketing department. Thereafter, he moved to ICICI Prudential Life Insurance and has been with the company since its inception in 2000.

In the recent past, Marico has been restructuring its marketing functions. Instead of having separate CEOs for its naturecare and healthcare divisions, the company will now have a common head of marketing for all its brands.

Mr Arvind Mediratta, Marico's erstwhile head of marketing recently quit to join Whirpool India.
