Govt clears industrial cluster scheme

THE Government has cleared implementation of the Industrial Infrastructure (clusters) Upgradation Scheme (IIUS) with an outlay of Rs 675 crore during the Tenth Plan, according to an official release.

It has been proposed to take up 20 to 25 clusters initially for development under this scheme. The selection of clusters for development will be based on diagnostic study with emphasises on providing physical infrastructure in the cluster.

Priority will be given to clusters having a small industry concentration, the release added.
