`HRM needs a re-look'

Our Bureau

HYDERABAD: The functions of human resources management needs a re-look in the Indian context in the wake of the entry of multinational companies and the reciprocal moves by some Indian companies to go global, according to Mr Vivek Paranjape, Human Endeavours of Singapore.

He was delivering the keynote address at the national conference on HR management organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) here. About 200 executives from industry, faculty members and students of business schools took part.

Mr V. Krishnan, General Manager, Mico Bosch, said since big corporates are becoming more global, HR managers need to work out strategies to impart competencies among managers to tackle diversity effectively and to work in different cultures.
