Internet Marketing - Retailing Reliance WebWorld outlets to host MS game contest Our Bureau
Bangalore , Nov. 13 RELIANCE Infocomm plans to set up 2,000 more WebWorld outlets, its retail digital entertainment and communication centres, within the next year. The Reliance WebWorld Chief Executive Officer, Mr Sarup Chowdhary, told newspersons on Thursday that 350 more WebWorld outlets would be set up this year itself. Currently, there are 225 WebWorld outlets in the country. As part of the promotion of WebWorld outlets, Reliance Infocomm will host the popular game tournament, Halo Multiplayer Championship, in the country. Halo is a science fiction epic, a first-person shooter game and the championship will be held in seven cities in the country. The Microsoft Home and Entertainment Division Sales Director for Asia, Ms Yolanda Chan, said Reliance WebWorld would serve as the tournament centres for the launch of the championship. The finals will be held on December 28, with the total prize money of Rs 2 lakh. The winner will be invited to participate in the world championship to be held at Los Angeles, US. Halo, an Microsoft game was initially launched on the Xbox console. After being on the Xbox console for over a year, selling over three million copies till date, it is now being launched in a PC version.
