New Products & Services Group Apollo launches online lottery brand Our Bureau
Mumbai , Nov. 14 THE Rs 2,300-crore Group Apollo has launched its online lottery brand Lottus in all the lottery playing States. "Lottus will offer new games, most number of draws and higher chances of winning as well as larger share of reward for customers," the company said in a release. "Lottus aims to set international benchmarks in the Indian online lottery and support responsible gaming as a form of entertainment for adults," the release added. The new games have been designed based on an extensive field survey conducted by the Apollo team and its Australian partners. The games have been designed to maximize the chances of winning. "With an investment of Rs 250 crore envisaged over three years, we hope to establish a leadership position in the online lottery business by both exploiting and expanding the market potential," said Mr Onkar S. Kanwar, Chairman, Group Apollo. "Our aim is to set the standards for transparency, ethics and compliance in the Indian online industry." At present, the total market for lotteries in the country is valued at Rs 50,000 crore. Industry analysts anticipate the overall market to grow in the range of Rs 10,000 crore to 20,000 crore in the next three years. The growth will come largely from the conversion of the paper lottery player to online lottery on account of greater transparency. The volumes are also expected to increase on account of the kiosks being accessible as well as the credibility associated with the online lottery sector.
