Grievance redressal thru Net in TN

Our Correspondent

MADURAI: People in 18 villages in Theni taluk will have direct access to the district administration for redressal of their grievances, thanks to the Internet facility provided.

According to District Collector, Mr Atul Anand, interaction would be made with the petitioners periodically through video-conferencing on a trial basis. Replies to the petitioners would be sent through Internet centres, within 15 days.

The Government has planned to set up 600 Internet centres in the district, including areas inaccessible, to enable people to contact officials through Internet. The programme has been launched under the Rural Access to Service through Internet project, he added.
