Workshop on literacy drive

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Education Minister, Mr Nalakath Soopy, will inaugurate on November 22 a one-day national workshop on the Centrally-sponsored Sarv Sikshan Abhiyan (SSA) that seeks to universalise basic education in the country and ensure quality education.

Invited papers on `Rights and duties of teacher organisations in the implementation of SSA' will be presented at the workshop, which would be held at the Thycaud Guest House here, an official spokesman said.

Representatives from the National Council for Education, Research and Training (NCERT) and other national bodies in the field of education, teacher organisations from Kerala and governing body members will be attending the workshop.
