Mumbai , Nov. 18

RELIANCE Infocomm has tied up with filmmakers Mr Yash Johar and Mr Karan Johar for promotion of their "latest blockbuster" `Kal Ho Naa Ho' through Reliance IndiaMobile Showtime.

Reliance IndiaMobile customers can watch movie trailers on their phones, download wallpapers of the movie stars, read the storyline and participate in interactive programmes and contests.

"Besides the conventional channels of press, outdoors, collaterals and SMS, we will employ R World, the data application suite of Reliance IndiaMobile, for a real broadband experience and bring 70-mm excitement through Reliance Web World stores in 11 cities," said Mr Amit Khanna, spokesperson for Reliance Infocomm.

Reliance Infocomm will showcase a movie every month to its expanding family of users. We believe that the entertainment industry is a natural partner in our business progression ahead," said Mr Khanna.

"With a customer base of over 5.5 million and a billion hits per month on R World, Reliance Infocomm offers a compelling proposition of reach across the geography of India. We foresee this revolutionary concept of movie promotion to open up a slew of new marketing avenues. This delivers yet another opportunity to reward our existing customers with thousands of prizes including movie tickets, CDs and memorabilia," added Mr Khanna.

Reliance Web World, a nationwide chain of retail stores for digital entertainment and communication, will also feature a zone showcasing `the Film Of The Month' and conduct demos of the movie trailer to Reliance customers on the R World besides being collection centers for Kal Ho Naa Ho tickets. "R world has over 100 data applications and has an array of broadband applications made available in 8 different Indian languages. R World aims to make life more simple and exciting for the Reliance IndiaMobile user," said Mr Mahesh Prasad, President, Applications and Solutions, Reliance Infocomm.
