The Hindu Business Line : Tata Tele (Maha) to get unified access licence

TATA Teleservices (Maharashtra) Ltd's application for migration to the unified access service licence (UASL) has been accepted by the Department of Telecommunications.

The company will get two licences — one for Mumbai metro and another for Maharashtra & Goa, it said in a notice to the BSE. Tata Teleservices earlier had a basic services licence for Maharashtra & Goa, Mumbai being included in the basic services licence for the circle.

The UASL would enable the company to provide fully mobile telecom services, in addition to the fixed and limited mobility telecom services the company provides currently.
