Trust to help self-help groups market products

THE Dharmadhikari of Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala, Dr D. Veerendra Heggade, will inaugurate the valedictory function of the 50th all-India co-operative week celebrations in Udupi on Thursday.

Addressing presspersons here, the President of South Canara District Co-operative Bank Ltd, Mr M.N. Rajendra Kumar, said that Navodaya Gram Vikas Trust would come into being at the function. This would help provide a market for the products of self-help groups. Insurance facility would be extended to Navodaya self-help groups on the occasion.

Interest rates will be reduced from 12.5 per cent to 9 per cent for crop loans up to Rs 50,000. On computerisation of co-operative banks, Mr Kumar stated that Rs 1.25 lakh would be given to Korangrapady Agricultural Co-operative Bank in this regard.
