IA to report lower net loss for 2002-03

INDIAN Airlines (IA) will end the financial year 2002-03 with a lower net loss of Rs 197 crore as against the estimated loss of Rs 245 crore, the airline's Chairman and Managing Director, Mr Sunil Arora, said here on Tuesday.

"Air travel which was looking up this year has helped the airline end the last financial year with a net loss of Rs 197 crore as against an estimated loss of Rs 245 crore," Mr Arora said after opening a sales office dedicated to meet the needs of corporate houses and travel agents.

The sales office, located at Safdarjung Airport, will cater to travel-related requirements of 125 corporate houses and over 320 travel agents. Apart from eight dedicated workstations, there are also two help desks for the travel agents and an exclusive help desk for corporate houses.
