The Hindu Business Line : Keltron to launch IPR wing

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The State Industries Minister, Mr P.K. Kunhalikkutty, will formally launch the Keltron Intellectual Property Organisation (KIPRO) at a function here on Saturday.

KIPRO has been set up as a full-fledged facilitation centre for acquisition of intellectual property rights by Keltron, after having been specifically directed so by the State Government. This is expected to help the State achieve a competitive position in business, especially viewed in the context of the WTO provisions on Trade Related IPR System (TRIPS) coming into force on January 1, 2005.

To coincide with the official launch, KIPRO will organise a one-day seminar for Managing Directors of select public sector undertakings the same day. Dr M.D. Nair, the Chennai-based IPR consultant, will lead the proceedings.
