Airlines Logistics - Airlines Jet to raise Apex, Super Apex fares from Dec 1 Ashwini Phadnis
New Delhi , Nov. 27 JET Airways is to revise upwards its `Advance Purchase Excursion' (Apex) and `Super Apex' fares from December 1. The private sector scheduled airline will also offer a new 21-day apex fare from the same day. A passenger availing himself of the new 21-day Apex fare will have to complete the entire journey on or before March 31 next year. Sources told Business Line that the upward revision of the fares will be a "few hundred rupees" more than what a passenger is paying at present. "There is a marginal increase on most sectors. The upward revision in the fares will not be more than a couple of hundred rupees," sources said. From December 1 this year, a passenger travelling on the 15-day Apex fare scheme between Delhi and Chennai will pay Rs 5,060, up from the existing fare of Rs 4,555, while a one-way trip between Hyderabad and Delhi will cost Rs 4,915, up from the existing fare of Rs 4,415. Similarly, a journey between Delhi and Bangalore will now cost Rs 6,085 under the 15-day scheme instead of the existing fare of Rs 5,585. A one-way trip on the Delhi-Thiruvananthapuram sector will cost Rs 8,510 if the ticket is booked 15 days before the date of travel. Similarly, a ticket purchased at least 21 days before departure will cost Rs 4,500 for travel between Chennai and Delhi and Rs 6,900 for a one-way journey between Delhi and Thiruvananthapuram. The new 21-day apex fare on the Delhi-Mumbai sector will be Rs 3,700, while a passenger under the 15-day Apex scheme will be charged Rs 4,500. Likewise, a passenger availing himself of the 30-day Super Apex ticket will pay Rs 3,600 for a journey between Delhi and Mumbai. To avail herself of an Apex fare ticket, a passenger has to book at least 15 days in advance of the journey, while a passenger travelling on a Super Apex ticket has to book at least 30 days in advance. The airline had earlier decided to introduce a 21-day apex fare scheme to meet the demands of the market, officials indicated. IA upward revision: Indian Airlines also announced an upward revision on its advance purchase tickets for some sectors from December 1.
