Bangalore , Nov. 28

THIRD party business process outsourcing (BPO) services firm ICICI OneSource expects to add about 1,000 employees to its existing headcount of 4,100 by the end of the current financial year.

The company was also planning to set up its fifth facility with a capacity of 1,000 seats in Mumbai by first quarter 2004, said a company press release.

ICICI OneSource has added about six new clients in the UK and the US during the second half of 2003. The proposed expansion in Mumbai and across its other facilities in Bangalore would be to cater these new clients, the release said.

The company currently has three facilities in Bangalore and one in Mumbai. The recent client additions are across verticals such as financial services, telecom, retail and travel sectors.

"There is good reason for our steep growth curve. We are committed to becoming the dominant third-party provider of offshore outsourcing services to top-tier clients in a number of key target sectors," said Mr Ananda Mukerji, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of ICICI OneSource.

"We are expanding on all fronts, from our recent acquisition of FirstRing, to new service offerings in new market segments. We're also exploring new geographies, both inside and outside of India, where we can take advantage of opportunities to establish additional service facilities."

ICICI OneSource was recently named among the top three employers in BPO industry by research firm IDC/Dataquest.
