Sports Sporting a change Our Bureau
Mumbai , Nov. 30 THE Sahara India Pariwar will host the Laureus World Sports Academy forum at Amby Valley on December 2. Sports personalities such as Edwin Moses, Sebastian Coe, Daley Thompson, Nadia Comaneci, David Douillet, Sean Fitzpatrick, Dawn Fraser, Michael Johnson, Kip Keino, Nawal El Moutawakel, Robby Naish, Morné du Plessis and Kapil Dev are expected to participate, according to a release. The forum will discuss various sports opportunities and ways to use sport as a tool for social change around the world. Sahara is associated with the Indian cricket team, the national senior and junior hockey teams and other sporting events, and its association with this forum will "reinforce (its) mission towards all-round development and promotion of sports in India," said Mr Subrata Roy Sahara, Managing Worker & Chairman of Sahara India Pariwar. The Laureus World Sports Awards are the premier honours for sporting excellence. The Academy, chaired by track legend Edwin Moses, meets twice a year, according to the release.
