Siddha R&D unit

MADURAI: A research and development unit under the Siddha Medical System is to be established soon, Mr Thalavai Sundaram, Health Minister, has said.

Addressing an international meet on prevention, care and control of HIV/AIDS under Siddha, at Kilavayal in Sivaganga district, near here, the Minister said that the MGR Medical University has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Institute of Health at USA for research on AIDS. The Institute has come forward to set up hospitals exclusively for AIDS affected persons in Namakkal and Rasipuram, he added.
