MUMBAI: The All-India Printing Ink Manufacturers' Association will host the Asia Coat + Ink Show 2003 from December 11 to 13 at Mumbai.

A workshop on `Global challenges for inks and coatings' would be held on the sidelines of the exhibition along with demonstration of new technologies such as UV ink coatings and waterless printing.

The exhibition will provide a platform for the ink manufacturing industry to interact with global ink buyers from the US, Africa and West Asia , Mr Ajit Lalvani, President of the association, said in an official release.

According to Mr B.B. Sen, Co-ordinator of the exhibition, the printing ink industry sold over one-lakh tonnes of printing ink valued at Rs 900 crore for the year-ended March 2003.

To cater to the increasing demand, leading global printing ink manufacturers from the UK, Japan and US are implementing capacity expansion plans in India to meet the projected demand of 1.8 lakh tonnes by 2006.
