Hindustan Petroleum launches smart card

CHENNAI: Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd has introduced a `smart card', which a customer could use to pay for petrol or diesel bought at HPCL's outlets.

The value credited in the card will keep diminishing as the customer uses it to pay for purchases.

Credit in the card can be replenished in exchange for cash.
