Software Wipro develops portal for UK broadband network Our Bureau
Bangalore , Dec. 8 WIPRO Technologies today announced that the UK-based NTL Home has worked with it to develop its Broadband Plus portal to provide content from 15 leading premium content providers. Broadband Plus is a unique broadband service that provides an `access all areas' pass to some of the best paid-for premium content on the Web, bundled together for the first time, at a fraction of their standalone prices. According to a Wipro press release, Broadband Plus has been designed with NTL Home's highly specified 600Kb and 1Mb Broadband products in mind. This new service features extensive video and interactive content to appeal to the higher speed broadband users. As an introductory offer, NTL Home is offering three months' free access to Broadband Plus. According to Mr Chris Bunyan, Head of Core Internet Services for NTL Home, "Wipro demonstrated a strong understanding of our business processes, and worked effectively with cross functional teams and our multiple vendors". In the UK, NTL's fibre optic broadband network covers nearly 50 per cent of the country numbering over 11 million homes.
